María Cecilia Osorto

Position Sewing Instructor

My name is María Cecilia Osorto; I was born in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. I graduated from high school at Vicente Caceres Institute. Then after that I studied Salomon Academy of Styles. I got a degree in Sewing, Tailor, and as a Dressmaker. I go to the Church of Christ in La Vega here in Tegucigalpa. I have 3 sons, Alex, Jesus and Elvis of which 2 Elvis and Jesus are still under my responsibility. In 1999 I met Janet Hines at Baxter Institute of Bible Studies where she was giving a quilting course where I was her student.

Getting to know Janet was a big blessing in my life; because of her I had the opportunity to get a loan from her and build a classroom at my house and begin my own sewing classes there. In 2003, Mi Esperanza gave me a job as a sewing instructor and thanks to that job I have been able to get my boys thru school. My youngest son Elvis is the only one in school now. My oldest son works and Jesus is now starting to go to University of Honduras. I thank God everyday for this opportunity and for the people I work with.

Thank you Lord and may you keep blessing us all.
