In May of 2009 the staff of Mi Esperanza opened a store to service the growing number of visitors and groups that are interested in our program and products. The purpose of the store concept is to raise funds to support the programs Mi Esperanza provides to women living in poverty and to employee sewing school graduates. The Mi Esperanza store is located at the city center facility in Tegucigalpa. The store allows visitors to visit our program and then shop for gifts and souvenirs. Everyone loves shopping knowing that their money is going to help women receive a free education. All the textile products in the store are made by Mi Esperanza women. We also offer the very popular Lenca Indian Pottery to our guests and use a cooperative of Lenca women in Magu for the pieces we sell. Lenca pottery is a ancient tradition of Honduras.
Next time you are in Honduras stop by, but in the mean time visit the on-line store.
