Mi Esperanza

Lori Connell

Mi Esperanza means MY HOPE and began in 2002 with a vision to provide life sustaining change in the lives of women in the villages surrounding Tegucigalpa, Honduras.  For more than a decade we have elevated women and given them the tools and resources they need to break the cycle of intergenerational poverty. Through Mi Esperanza women are finding a new sense of HOPE, self empowerment and the stability that is needed to gain control of their future.  At the heart of MI ESPERANZA lies a desire to see lives changed  and we know that elevating women is the fastest way to change the world.

The women behind the Mi Esperanza designs are Lori Connell, Julie Lawson and Alana Neptune.  Read more about Mi Esperanza on this website.

Arrowroot: everyday dresses

Lori Connell

The fashion industry is known throughout the world for unethical treatment of workers and harmful effects on the environment. We believe that good clothing isn't just aesthetically on point, but uplifts the people who made it physically, emotionally, and financially.

To ensure that each of our dresses is ethically produced, 100% of our production happens through partnerships with amazing organizations that are committed to providing fair-wage, safe jobs for women who need them. Check out our partners above and watch the video below to learn more about Mi Esperanza, where the vast majority of our production happens.

The founder and designer of Arrow Root is EA Lepine.

LIZ ALIG

Joel Steidl

Our goal at Liz Alig is to make easy to wear, effortless style that is created ethically from fabric to sewing.  Because of this we have become creative in our use of textiles...recycling mounds of old t-shirts, going back to the roots of ethnic cultures to discover amazing hand-woven textiles, and designing garments that we actually really love to wear.  Then we partner with some amazing fair trade NGO’s and women’s co-ops around the world to produce the clothing – organizations like Mi Esperanza that are paying a fair wage, teaching women technical skills, and ultimately giving them the skills to help themselves out of poverty.

The founder and designer of Liz Alig is Elizabeth Roney. You can explore more about Liz Alig  here:  LIZ ALIG
