I was introduced to Mi Esperanza as an intern in the summer of 2009. Unfortunately, my time in Honduras was cut short that summer because of the government coup.
I returned later that fall, where I launched my line, Liz Alig, from the sewing workshop at Mi Esperanza. Over the years, I have continued to work with Mi Esperanza to produce small collections. I have loved getting to know the women in the sewing program and watching how Mi Esperanza impacts their lives, both in building their confidence and giving them tools to become financially independent.
Since launching my line at Mi Esperanza, I have gone on to partner with similar small workshops around the world. I am passionate about finding sustainable ways to give women more ownership of their lives, both financially and personally. I love being a part of how Mi Esperanza does this in Honduras.
