Turning to Gratitude
Lori Connell
As Thanksgiving approaches our focus turns to gratitude. Reflecting back over the past year in the life of Mi Esperanza brings a smile to my face. Many changes have occurred. With the contracts we have been receiving from designers and partners in the U.S., we at one time this summer had 65 women hired to complete an order of 85,000 pieces. Sixty five women! They worked full time for five months.
Early in December we begin our 14th year as an organization focused on engaging in the lives of women of poverty in Honduras. In those years, we have been part of hundreds of women who have received the hope of employable skills through our classes. We are grateful for the opportunity to share the hope education brings to their lives.
In case you missed the launch of our newly redesigned website, please take time to visit it and read the personal stories there. Be sure to sign up to receive our emails and newsletters. Our new updated store has great gift ideas too!
The more we each deliberately choose to Purchase with a Purpose, the more women we are able to employ. The more women employed, the more lives are changed. The women themselves recognize the value of education empowering that change.
Many of you have known us since the beginning. It has been an honor to have you walk beside us, encourage us, and cheer us on when we didn’t know how to keep going. God continues to bless us as our energy abounds, and it is with great anticipation we look forward to where our journey leads in the future.
It is with great gratitude on behalf of the family of Mi Esperanza we extend our wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving to each of you.
